Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Kathleen States, and I am a web and graphic designer based out of Long Beach , California .

 

In my designs, whether print or web, functionality and usability come first. Design should help convey a message, not obstruct it. I take pride in both the aesthetic appearances and ease of use of my work.

 

My web design interests include accessibility, web standards, clean CSS and html, and liquid and elastic layouts. I enjoy learning new web languages, and am currently experimenting with php.

Web Design

 

Rainbow Memories Photography

 

The client needed a website to show her photography work to potential customers. She wanted the website to have a fun feel based around her preexisting logo. These goals were achieved through a flash based photo gallery and a colorful site.

 

 

Gender and Video Games

 

The client, a professor at Harvey Mudd College, needed a website for her sociological video game experiment. During the run of the experiment, the site would randomly load one of three flash video game variations. After the experiment, the web site needed to provide information about the results of the experiment.

 

Robot Nixon

 

A presidential parody site featuring Nixon as seen on the cartoon Futurama.
